Notice of Changes for Entering Hendry County Courthouse

Please be advised that, all persons entering the Hendry County Courthouse must enter through the courtyard on the east side of the Judicial wing (facing S. Bridge Street) and exit thru the south side doors toward the courthouse parking lot. Individuals with disabilities will be allowed entrance on the south side of the courthouse near the courthouse parking lot if special accommodations are needed. 

New safety measures have been implemented at the Clerk’s Office, which may at times cause long lines outside the building.

Per 20th Judicial Administrative Order 2.39, Anyone entering the Court House are now required to wear face masks or face coverings, maintain six feet distance from others, and have their temperatures checked.  Anyone with a temperature over 100.4 degrees will not be permitted to enter the building. Only customers with court business will be given access and a limited number will be allowed in the lobbies. 

Customers entering the Clerk’s Office for Official Record services are required to wear face masks or face coverings and maintain six feet distancing from others.  Only customers with Official Records business will be given access to the 2nd floor and in compliance with social distancing only 10 customers are allowed at any one time.   All others, including children when possible, must remain outside the building. 

Our doors remain open to people who need help in the following areas specifically listed by our Governor and the Florida Supreme Court:  Domestic Violence, Baker Acts, Vulnerable Adult Injunctions, Shelter Hearings, and Appointment of Emergency Temporary Guardians.  If you need help in one of these areas, our doors remain open to you, and we have staff ready to assist. As for other services not specifically deemed essential by Governor DeSantis and the Florida Supreme Court, we are not open to the public.  However, many of our services can be handled online by visiting 

Marriage Licenses are being issued by appointment only. Please call (863)-675-5217 to make an appointment. Please visit our website ( ) for a copy of the Family Law Handbook and to see what documents are required for the application.

Passport Services have been suspended until future notice.  Please call 1-877-487-2778 for other passport serving locations.

Official Records can now be processed in person, by mail, e-recording or by leaving in our drop box. A drop box is located in the parking lot of the Hendry County Courthouse.   If leaving in the drop box you must include your name and telephone number in the event there is an issue with the documents and we need to contact you also, a check or money order for the proper recording fee must be attached to your Recording Documents and a return envelope with postage.   Cash cannot be accepted through the drop box.


 All Court and Traffic payments can be made over the telephone by credit card or mailed to the Clerk of Court, PO Box 1760, LaBelle, FL 33975 by cashier’s check or money order (No Personal Check).   You may also make payments by going to the Clerk’s website at  We strongly encourage individuals with traffic tickets or other outstanding court-ordered financial obligations, who are facing a hardship, to contact our office at the following numbers: (863) 675-5209 or (863) 675-5217

Port LaBelle Utility Payments can now be made in person or you may continue to place them in the drop box located in the parking lot of the Hendry County Courthouse. Please include your account number with street address and name. Payments will only be accepted by personal check, cashier check or money order – NO CASH if you are dropping off in the drop box.
